Whether you’re a parent, teacher or community member, our educators around the state are available to meet your needs. Our goal: a sexually healthy Maine.

Parents

We believe parents are the primary sexuality educators of their children. But this doesn’t mean it’s easy to talk about these sensitive topics with your kids. Whether you need support, skills or resources, we’re here to help.

Check out FACTS – a useful guide for parents and caregivers on what to expect and how to talk to your kids about sexuality.

Why do we teach this?

Our approach is based on research that shows that comprehensive sexuality education:

  • Encourages kids to wait to have sex.
  • Increase the use of condoms.
  • Increases the use of contraceptives.
  • Decreases the number of sexual partners.
  • Decreases the frequency of sexual intercourse.
